The bad news for the Conservatives, the findings show NO impact, with an overall negative impression, not of Dion, but of Harper. As the numbers show, the ads didn't hurt Dion, relative to Harper, which is bizarre, given that the ads are Conservative.

Marketing 401, the same old gets old fast :)Steve Vhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04871113039374739208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-18237485404769441002007-06-06T18:01:00.000-04:002007-06-06T18:01:00.000-04:00That's some pretty good spin there OS and CC, but ...That's some pretty good spin there OS and CC, but I am not worried.

If you are correct, then Harper is banking on the electorate ignoring Harper's lies and exaggerations, and paying attention to what Harper says about Dion.

This kind of works outside an election, because most of the focus is on the government and not the opposition. During an election, however, the focus is on the opposition. That is when the electorate will see the sharp contrast between Harper and Dion. One inhabits the gutter; the other inhabits the high road.

I am not concerned about liberal support, and Dion's support trailing the conservatives at this point. If I were a conservative I would be concerned about the fact that even after almost 18 months in office, their numbers are not going up, and that the only thing they do to try and turn that around is attack Dion.

People are not stupid - they will see through this -as this poll clearly shows.Gaylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08112657859825911939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-7946267100716202572007-06-06T16:30:00.000-04:002007-06-06T16:30:00.000-04:00That last result (52% do not think the Liberal lea...That last result (52% do not think the Liberal leader is a leader), is the most disturbing one to all Liberals.

If a similar percentage of voters believes the same come election day, then Harper might be elected to a majority government, warts and all.

Let's hope that the advisors and other senior officers of the Liberal Party are digging into the reasons why so many people do not find Dion to be a leader, and are devising programs to change this dangerous perception.

A party perceived as 'leaderless' stands faint chance of becoming the next government.CuriosityCathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12485015529428901518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-52748949507799100752007-06-06T16:11:00.000-04:002007-06-06T16:11:00.000-04:00You're missing the most important stat...Do you ag...You're missing the most important stat...

Do you agree or disagree with the following statements?

"Stéphane Dion is not a leader"

Agree - 52%
Disagree - 31%
Not Sure - 17%

These commercials aren't necessarily about boosting our numbers in the here and now... they're about ensuring that Dion's numbers won't have anywhere to go but down when the writ gets dropped.

Tell me... who amongst that 52% is going to pick Dion as their leader, when they agree with the concept that he is "not a leader"?

Marketing 201 my friend.Christian Conservativehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08209597951882278141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-36584834018652023412007-06-06T15:50:00.000-04:002007-06-06T15:50:00.000-04:00O/T but I thought you might enjoy this quote from ...O/T but I thought you might enjoy this quote from Harper, oops, I mean Bush.

I can't see the difference, can you see the difference?

Speaking ahead of his meeting, Mr Bush said that instead of backing the proposed emissions caps he favoured his own plan that the worst CO2 emitting nations, including the US, China and India, meet before the year is out to put together a new long-term strategy to tackle the problem.

..."The United States can serve as a bridge to help find a solution," Mr Bush saidKarenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04291881352139075405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-40977313769293009752007-06-06T15:42:00.000-04:002007-06-06T15:42:00.000-04:00French citizen statusOhhh, now there is a burning ...French citizen status

Ohhh, now there is a burning issue that Canadians care about!Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04291881352139075405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-20409315157093494222007-06-06T15:12:00.000-04:002007-06-06T15:12:00.000-04:00The important stat is the Improved!!If an election...The important stat is the Improved!!
If an election is called and Dion has to run on his record . . .
The environment non-action, his French citizen status, and his painful attempts to communicate will quickly make him a distant second.Oldschoolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13090598978543658398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-32122442426759708282007-06-06T11:52:00.000-04:002007-06-06T11:52:00.000-04:00Knb, I think the leadership question is a broader ...Knb, I think the leadership question is a broader question, which is pretty much in line with other polling.
