It is nice to see Mr. Tredeau had enough respect for Mr. Ignatieff to speak open and candidly. I suspect Mr. Ignatieff has a great deal of respect and more than likely has adopted many of Mr. Tredeau's philosophies. It would be nice to see clips like this hit main stream media via commercials, ie: what each leader was doing and saying in past and present? Great post by you and knb, I had never seen anything like that before now, it does show Mr. Ignatieff's true intellect.Frankly Canadianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09939737123658813199noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-2044227468454383182009-01-08T18:35:00.000-05:002009-01-08T18:35:00.000-05:00MoundYes, sometimes you don't know what you had, u...Mound

Yes, sometimes you don't know what you had, until you see the replacement.Steve Vhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04871113039374739208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-55323046679556195582009-01-08T18:22:00.000-05:002009-01-08T18:22:00.000-05:00MoS, no I can't. The burr under Mulroney's saddle was that, while both he and Trudeau were enormously unpopular by the time they left office, Trudeau remained highly respected even by those who had turned on him. I think, if anything, the Mulroney era actually rehabilitated Trudeau's popularity among Canadians. The Mound of Soundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09023839743772372922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-59537852895185935822009-01-08T18:19:00.000-05:002009-01-08T18:19:00.000-05:00My God, could you imagine that current stiff, Harp...My God, could you imagine that current stiff, Harper, holding a conversation on that level? The Mound of Soundhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09023839743772372922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-11492573070798386332009-01-08T18:16:00.000-05:002009-01-08T18:16:00.000-05:00brilliant! mercibrilliant! merciAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-15309167478760796602009-01-08T17:15:00.000-05:002009-01-08T17:15:00.000-05:00Knb, I pointed out at RT's, that this interview ju...Knb, I pointed out at RT's, that this interview just happened to take place in the middle of Ignatieff's supposed "abroad" period. Seems quite comfortable talking "Canada" doesn't he, and he apparently kept up his interest on the "domestic" scene. Again, as I said at RT's, I believe Harper was making speeches telling Americans what a shit hole Canada was at this time, so if we want to rehash the past, BRING IT ON.

I know some don't like Trudeau, and that is fair game for sure. But, I love watching how his mind worked, he really was a true intellectual. Same for the interviewer ;)Steve Vhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04871113039374739208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20358187.post-43837615601283366142009-01-08T16:42:00.000-05:002009-01-08T16:42:00.000-05:00I just watched the series. Really interesting in that you gain some insight into how Trudeau came to his decisions, but you also learn a great deal about Ignatieff don't you?

It certainly makes myth of all the inane comments that insinuate that Ignatieff's time abroad disqualify him as being a Canadian leader.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04291881352139075405noreply@blogger.com
