"I Like You, But I Don't Like Your Leader.'”

Simply amazing comment from PC candidate Cheryl Miller, particularly since it was made just after said leader exited their JOINT radio appearance. Another convert to DUD nation:
Speaking Wednesday morning to host Steve Garrison of News/Talk 1290 CJBK, Miller said, "It's kind of interesting. I knock at doors and people say, 'I like you, but I don't like your leader.'”

Her comments came mere minutes after she and Hudak joined Garrison on air for a nine-minute interview — the Tory leader joined the interview late and left early as he prepared for a last-day blitz of the province.

Really quite odd that Miller would appear with Hudak, since see believes he is torpedoing her chances at election. Federal Liberals know the feeling at the door, but rarely does someone throw their leader under the bus in such a public way, especially under these circumstances.

She is right though, NOBODY likes Hudak. Hudak's last day "blitz" seems to be encountering a Russian winter so to speak.

Cambridge PC candidate Rob Leone, professor at WLU and parachute candidate into the riding, feels like he's getting a bad rap because he's not from the constituency and that people are holding his THREE university degrees "against him."

He should talk to a Liberal about his problems. I'm sure Ignatieff would love to give him some advice.

On the plus side, a conservative with three university degrees.

Prof Leone should talk to Dr Bob Rosehart, former WLU president who finished 3rd as a federal Liberal candidate in Kitchener-Conestoga riding back in May; behind a local union dude Dipper, and the incumbent Reformatory ex-dentist MP (an evangelical who want to outlaw all abortions).

Ideally, the best candidates are the ones who are victorious on election day, but that's often not the case.

BTW - Cambridge riding had a history of voting PC provincially. Prof Leone should have an easy time in this riding, that is provided someone other than "Tea-Party Tim" were the leader. I'm sure he and Cheryl Miller will not be the last to blame Hudak for their loses ...and they all would be correct in their analyses.

Miller is in tough in London from what I understand. Being from London originally, it often voted Liberal provincially, even when the Libs were in the wilderness. Remember David Peterson comes from London. While London is a pretty conservative place, it is not necessarily a Conservative place, if that makes any sense (note the capitalization....)

Dylan: The only problem Iggy had as a professor, was that he didn't defend being a professor, as if having brains was somehow a crime against politics, and he lacked the guts to come out strongly in defense of intelligence, and against the implied anti-intellectualism of the Harpercons..
