"Showcase Canada On The International Stage"

Tony Clement, justifying the beyond ridiculous pricetag (even more obnoxious when one considers Canada will be preaching fiscal disipline at the gatherings) for the G8/G20 Summit's. A pictorical of past G8/G20 Summit's and the endearing images that are broadcast around the world, "showcasing" the host country:

Let's get this party started! Book now world, while you still can. The kicker, only a billion dollars for all this awesome exposure.

This Billion Dollar Boondoggle sure makes the sponsorship scandal seem very small, doesn't it Reformatories?

Oh Harperbots, please post here in support of severe cost-overruns, and obvious tax dollar waste ...I need a big dose of irony and hypocrisy today.

ohh. Maybe Fife can have a blistering story about Harper telling the RCMP to push around the protesters... oh what?

Chertien already did that?

Twice?

Nevermind.. back to communion wafers and bathroom breaks.

does anyone know where Ridenrain gets his magic mushrooms from because he's definitely not on this planet.

I find it interesting how Canada was highly regarded on the world stage, but now in order to be a 'world force' we have to host billion dollar meetings.
I think I would prefer to go back to the days that Canada was a quiet, thoughtful country respected by the world. We seem to be slipping down a path which necessitates a large military and bullyish presence to be heard.

Oh, just ignore Ridenrain - he/she's doing what is instructed. Go on every site, do the Tory talking points, bash and trash and live in the past. PM wants this.

I can't imagine what it's going to be like for the thousands and thousands of people that commute taking VIA and GO to work. My husband takes VIA and may have to drive all the way to Scarborough (we live in rural Ontario)and try to take TTC. Union Station will be closed.

Harper can't manage, that's for sure. This last minute Louie obviously didn't think. I told hubby to take a couple of days of his vacation then, but vacations in most companies have already been booked.

It's going to be a real mess.
