Return Fire

I like the imagery in the corporate tax cut ad, particularly the limo at the end. A touch of class warfare at play, which in this instance can be quite effective.

The fighter jet ad is good in establishing the money involved, although it requires the "other shoe"- we are not against buying planes per se, just this process which isn't competitive, the best bang for the taxpayer buck.

Quite pleased to see a response. Good stuff!!

Ads aren't free obviously, if you're so inclined. We HAVE to get rid of these guys:

as someone noted on FB yesterday, it's only called class warfare when we fight the rich, what they do to us is just business as usual.
This election is about liberal democracy vs. corporatism.
Time for the liberals to stop being corporatists, or become irrelevant.

I think we've seen that shift with this policy...

I like that these are short and succinct. In a world where everyone has the attention span of a fruit fly, that's important.

They also put the spotlight directly on the Harper Government, and forces them to make the long arguments in defense of their policies for a change.

Also much more subtle, but unmistakable; they are not personal attacks. Unlike the Reformatory ads.

The F35 ad begs for more, but it gets it reinforces the cost, we need to clarify further in a campaign. People aren't against funding the military, so it's imperative they understand our nuanced position.

I really like the corporate tax cut ad, that's simple math that people get.

I'm with you Steve. I always get a bit uneasy when the Liberals start on the military theme, something I took some flack for at my place. They shouldn't focus on the fact the CPC is buying jets, they should focus on the fact that they're buying THOSE jets.

Very good ads they speak for me...
Mr Nasty is about to be shipped South !!!

Someone pointed out to me that it might have been advantageous to use the Auditor General quotes in the plane ad. I like that suggestion, because their is an air of non-partisan, objective perspective.

Funny, I was just thinking about this the other day. Every other PM, once retired, usually ends up moving on to a prestigious law firm, or on to sit for one or more boards somewhere.

The only thing a political hack like Sweaterboy can do is move to the US and join FoxNews. I guess he could have his own show on the new SunNews, but I doubt they pay as well.

Agree about the Fighter Jet ad. The criticism is basically "untendered" and they need to beef it up.

Made me make a donation I've been putting off though.

The word "untendered" isn't something everyone understands.

As an aside Pierre Pollievre called the ads "vicious". LOL!

Good on ya Kirk!

Pierre Pollievre, there's another a-hole who's never held a real job in his life. Seriously, not one! But he has a full MP pension now.

Something I like about these ads is, except for the fine print of course, they don't necessarily look like they come from the LPC. Lots of green, lots of yellow. In a sense they just convey a message that says, "these guys are shite for the country. Don't vote for them". If advertisements like these can inspire a Danny Williams type 'ABC' reaction in the polling booth, then that is all for the good.
