"The Denial Machine"

The Fifth Estate had a fascinating show on the global warming debate. I thought I would post the link, in case anyone missed it. Maybe one or two members of the flat earth society might get a clue, or maybe not:

"The Denial Machine".

Probably the best part is listening to the master of disinformation Luntz acknowledge that the problem is real and it needs to move beyond "political arguments", basically puppeting Gore.

Hi Steve,

I just watched it and am pleased to see that you have linked to it (for anyone who missed it).

Well worth the time.

It really exposed the false debate nicely I thought :)

Steve,

I agree, and the comparison to the historical denial of the tobacco industry ("smoking does NOT cause cancer") was a potent example, one which surely even the flat earth society would get.

You would think, but their thickness is impressive ;)

I watched it last November, but I understand that it has been updated. Will try to watch it sometime today.

Anderson Cooper has done a good special as well - called: Planet in Crisis.

I don't know how these idiots can deny something is happening.

They keep dwelling on errors of Gore, etc., but really, if Gore and rest were only half right we are in trouble.

They actually spoke to the point, citing the British court decision. The deniers focus on the errors, but the judgement spoke to the overwhelming accuracy, in agreement with the "vast majority" of scientific opinion.

Just to add, the comment section of the link is hilarious, or sad, depending on your mood. Good grief.
