This is the week, finally. Did you know when Parliament (big, majestic building in Ottawa) reconvenes, it will be the first time in
116 days? If an election is averted, I sure hope Harper and company can last until the 7 week Christmas break. Pace yourself "new" government, burnout is real.

It's a brush clearing thing...
How soon into the Throne speech before Michael Jean is forced to blame the past gov't for 'not getting things done'?
I give it seven minutes...
I just hope the throne speech preempts Rick Mercer. That would really suck!
Well I am not really well schooled on procedures and formulates and the Rules of the game /while I always had a keen interest about the interest of the PEOPLE./
Anyway it sounds bizarre the Throne speech has to be voted in a confidence way by the Parliament... was it always this way??? and the PM intention of declaring any Bill as for case for Confidence votes??? Is this possible??
the King is speaking???
marta
maybe Stallin' Steve will prorogue again - so as not to interfere with the Saskatchewan elections, of course.
(I love the photo!)
The Conservatives have done more government work in the past year than the Liberals did in the last five years of their reign.
Yes, when you are counting all the programs they cut and then had to restart (due to sudden focus groups going 'Oh!' in unison) in a watered down version, plus all the flipflops and retro-steps on their own promises, I suppose you could say they've gotten things done. Like prorogued parliament after just over a year; created a handy-dandy book on stalling and dodging the work of committees; shredding the word 'accountability' from any meaning; diverted their own funds raised by tax-assisted donations to create the first-ever negative non-campaign advertisement; racked up more flyer miles for photo ops than any full term government; worked aggressively to interfere with the democratic process in elections in Ottawa, Quebec, the Canadian Wheat Board and the riding executive of Cumberland-Colchester, with middling success... oh i've got a hand cramp. Feel free to pick up where i left off, Anony...
