The moving speech, full of eloquence and poetic phrasing. The hand on the bible, as the crowd roared in approval, Obama sworn in. Obama walking down Pennsylvania Avenue, at one with the American people. So hard to pick a favorite moment from today, but for myself this particular one tops them all:
It really doesn't get any better than that.

That helicopter shot - I was hoping for a "Nixon-esque" departure, but that would be wishful thinking...
Great day. One that I will remember for a long time: from the dawn of a glorious sunny Vancouver day, to the cold, crisp afternoon in DC... The huge crowds (contrast to the egg-tossing and index fingers of the last Bush parade in 04).
Wow.
The LONG WAIT and nightmare is over .! .... Ex president Bush landed is Texas ..
this was my fav. moment
What I remember is actually living in DC during Bush's FIRST inaugural, which literally looked like a funeral procession. It was cold, dreary, and the long line of black cars, tons of security, and a much smaller crowd (the security dwarfed the crowd - and that was BEFORE 911) just made for a really scary image.
In retrospect it was a fitting start to what followed, but I had no real idea at the time.
Today is one day I really missed DC. I would have loved to have been there today - though the sunny Vancouver mountains today were a nice touch in reminding me of how much I enjoy not living in a "center of power" ; ).

I couldn't hear, but apparently Bush was roundly booed when they introduced him. It was sort of funny to listen to Obama, his entire speech was basically a repudiation of the past regime. Bush just sat there looking very uncomfortable.
