Iggy Mania?

A national tour on the economy kicks off on Thursday:
Federal Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff is kicking of his national tour on the economy Thursday with a town hall style meeting in Halifax.

The 200 free tickets for event, which will be held at Neptune Theatre, have all been snapped up and there is a wait list. King Hants MP Scott Brison, the party’s finance critic, is billed as special guest.
Mr. Ignatieff will hold another town hall meeting on Friday afternoon at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.

My source in Halifax tells me there were several non-life threatening injuries, as the mob converged at the ticket office. The RCMP confirm two canisters of tear gas were used to disperse the lingering crowd. Constable Mitchell McDougall said "those who were able to get tickets were quickly extracted from the deteriorating scene and given police escort". McDougall also cautioned ticket holders to lock their doors and keep a watchful eye until the Thursday event. It's a sick world folks.

If packaged right. This has the potential of Trudeaumania.

If I were one of his handlers, I'd make a quick stop at a Tim Horton's, on the way to the event. Would set a nice tone, media in tow.

No Tim Horton's. They're getting enough free publicity.

Get him to a Loblaw or a Sobeys and show him checking sandwiches & salads out at the cashier.

Man of the people and all that.

I mention Tim Horton's, because I've heard a couple references already, saying the test for Iggy, how he relates to the Tim Horton's crowd. The symbolism wouldn't be lost on the media. Just a thought.

If you want some sort of Trudeaumania type hype for Ignatieff, an election must be called. Right now, he's the Liberal leader no one voted for.

Hmmm... If they don't start selling Iggy t-shirts, I am... I'm assuming the LPC is not that stupid, that they would dissuade a member from promoting our leader...

Maybe Iggy should attend the little mom and pop family restaurants in small towns - they need the publicity and the revenue. You know, for the grass root, small town folks.

My restaurant is available... I'm not a "Pop", but I can bring my "Ma and Pop" in for the event...

Hey Larry, good plan. And right after that we could have a Harper 'who bought his leadership?' open forum, because the people who paid his bills (heck, let's even ask who paid Pete's bills!) aren't talking or aren't allowed to talk (do they speak english or german?)...
