As our drive to the Halifax rally will be the better part of a 700km round trip, that's what we've decided to do. A little 'Prorogue Rally Weekend' getaway vacation. Following an afternoon of exhausting protestations it's 4-star accommodations, candlelight dinner for two then a play at Neptune theater. It's the bourgeois elitist way to protest, but we're worth it.
whether the rallies are well attended won't matter if people do not speak with their votes. Even a minority Liberal government will respect its mandate. Time for Canadians to show Harper the door with our votes. Whether you believe that Ignatief is the knight on the white horse, or not...he will seek your opinion..and that (in my book) counts for a lot. I do not want to be ruled..I want to be involved.

Funny, I remember sentiments like this from the old Reform party back in the early 90's. Anyone remember more referendums and MP recalls to involve the electorate more in the governing of the country? Whether these are workable ideas or not isn't my point, rather a gauge of just how far Harper has mutated since his early days in the Reform party.
Of course the angry Harperbots will never pick up on the hypocrisy of him becoming everything he once stood against. It's all the Liberal's fault you know.

I've made the same point too, and it's funny watching people now defend what they once vilified. Populists of convenience it would seem, and it speaks to a movement that was about hating Liberals, more than anything truly substantive or real conviction.

That's fantastic.
Omar - I like your attitude. That's a lot of driving and should be divided up into two days.
Good for you.
