"McCain has been an active promoter of the global warming hysteria -- for which he has been lauded by radical environmentalists -- and he is a co-sponsor of a leftist scheme for energy rationing."Rush Limbaugh
“I'm here to tell you, if McCain get the nomination, it's going to destroy the Republican Party. It's going to change it forever, be the end of it."Rush Limbaugh
"There’s nothing redeeming about John McCain,” Tom DeLay
"McCain has done more to hurt the Republican Party than any elected official I know of.” Tom Delay
“On energy bill, we’d be drilling in Anwar today if…and John McCain himself killed our ability to drill in Anwar.” Tom Delay
"I served 12 years with him, six years in the Senate as one of the leaders of the Senate, trying to put together the conservative agenda, and almost at every turn, on domestic policy, John McCain was not only against us, but leading the charge on the other side.” Rick Santorum
"“There’s nothing worse than having a Democratic Congress and a Republican president who would act like a Democrat in matters that are important to conservatives.” Rick Santorum
"There are decent, intelligent people who believe that equity or efficiency or both are often served by government setting prices. In America, such people are called Democrats." George Will
"John McCain is Bob Dole minus the charm, conservatism and youth.
Of course, I might lie constantly too, if I were seeking the Republican presidential nomination after enthusiastically promoting amnesty for illegal aliens, Social Security credit for illegal aliens, criminal trials for terrorists, stem-cell research on human embryos, crackpot global warming legislation and free speech-crushing campaign-finance laws.
I might lie too, if I had opposed the Bush tax cuts, a marriage amendment to the Constitution, waterboarding terrorists and drilling in Alaska." Ann Coulter

Conservatives Hate McCain
One of the best things about John McCain, the way he drives the lunatic right-wing off the deep end. You can't be all bad, when you receive these glowing reviews:

Good endorsements indeed. Watching last night's debate, I thought McCain clumsily tried to align himself with the so-called Republican mainstream and to shake his image as a moderate. I understand this tactic but his lack of conviction might hurt him in other areas. Only Ron Paul rose above the fray of pandering to far-right reactionaries, while Mitt and Huck remained comfortably and calmly predictable. McCain is a bad liar...Let's hope he gets the nod.
Hey ben. I thought McCain lost that debate, Romney actually got the better of him. With Arnie's endorsement today, on the heels of Guiliani, most of the media is focused on that, so Romney doesn't get much traction. McCain was very clumsy.
I support McCain mostly because he's the only Presidential candidate who thinks waterboarding IS torture.
My Humble opinion is...
I don't see how anyone can see McCain as some kind of " Solution..."
He is Blinded old man who can't rationalize about the Iraqi war .
I watched him all these years to prop up Bush.... he was fence sitting and acting not with consistency.
His ideas how to solve the Economy is plain Zilch Zero
All his ideas are way too Conservative and wrong to me.
I hope he will last through this grueling year-long campaign he should be golfing south instead of this belated running For president...
He is a rhinoceros well the others are WORST..

The fact the lunatic right find him not conservative enough will probably due more to help him than hurt him. While I find his views too conservative, I think he would be a far better president than Bush or any of the others on the lunatic right. I wouldn't say conservatives hate McCain, so much as the far right do. It is really no different than the far left disliking the moderates in the NDP since they don't follow the socialist dogma.
Ideologues generally come off poorly anyways as it is all about rants and bashing others and they have no original ideas.
This stuff might get Rush back on the pills:
"John McCain has received some unwelcome praise over the last couple weeks — at least as he campaigns for the Republican presidential nomination.
First he was endorsed by The New York Times, a newspaper often criticized by conservatives. Then, former President Bill Clinton said wife, Hillary, and McCain are 'very close.'
Now Barack Obama is getting in on the applause. At Thursday's debate, he lauded McCain for originally voting against the Bush tax cuts.
"I respect McCain who in the first two rounds of Bush tax cuts said it is irresponsible that we have never before cut taxes at the same time as we are going into war," Obama said."
