Studies In Hypocrisy

Media Position 1:
The Liberals need policy, they're bereft of ideas. What do the Liberals stand for, where's the substance? The Liberals will never regain power until they reinvent themselves with a fresh vision. You can't just release policy during an election campaign and hope to win. We DEMAND POLICY now.

Media Position 2:
Ideas don't excite anyone, this entire Thinker's Conference appears "boring". What's the point of having a policy discussion without an election looming, when nobody cares? Haven't the Liberals already had recent policy roundtables, enough all ready. It's hard to get traction out of a bunch of policy wonks hashing out ideas.

For the LOVE OF gOD, all these media pundits pre-judging an event they've basically CLAMORED for, month after month. Nobody expects a free ride, but it might be nice if you left the CYNICISM at the door.

Maybe if they have some time in Montreal, they could add a discussion paper on "Most Of The Media, WTF?" Personally, I would propose term limits ;)

sorry Steve, big fan of yours in general, but the liberals can't act because the tide went out and you're hung up on a peak between greatest equal liberty and corporatism. It's shit or get off the democratic pot time.

I'm not sure if you guys noted this, but ...

In a scrum yesterday, Ignatieff said that he would be going on a tour of the country after the Montreal conference, and ...

In an interview with Peter van Dusen, about a week ago, Ignatieff said that, he will be eventually coming out with a "kind of red book".

Off topic but an interesting utube titled Stephen Harper brings US style media control to Canada. Hope this link works for you.

Ah such short memories the media have. Harper didn't bring his policies out until the election was underway in 2005/6 with a new one each day.

Don Martin said the guest lineup for the conference were boring - I didn't realize it was suppose to be a rock concert.

I'm having trouble submitting a question over at St-Stevie's YouTube page.

As for Iggy I will be going to a kind of Q &A session tomorrow afternoon when he comes to speak at the YWCA in Montreal.

I hope I haven an easier time asking a question to him live than I do to Stevie on YOutube

A "kind of red book"? How original. They had better come up with some pretty impressive ideas at this little Montreal thinking soiree or I'm done.

The media is just too addicted to Harper's war-by-advertising strategy to give anyone else a fair hearing.
As Daffy Duck would say, it's despicable...
