New Liberal Negative Ad

A new Liberal ad, with dark undertones, using health care to create some fear of their own:

Probably the most negative, scary type ad, of the campaign from the Liberals. Feels like every other negative ad I've heard the last ten years, but apparently they work...

About freakin' time the Libs started fighting like they understand what fighting is.

Took a couple of elections but finally the LPC is fighting fire with fire.

I like it but I have a quibble. To me, this isn't an attack ad. Depictions of bird poop, misrepresenting & ridiculing someone's career abroad and the list goes on, those are attack ads.

This seems to me, partisan that I am, an ad that points out positions that Harper has recently held. Fair game and nothing shameful here.

Now hopefully they purchase a decent ad buy so that this can be shown ad nauseum from now until May 2.

As well, it better not be the only one.

Go Habs!

Good ad and to the point.
More please...

This isn't a personal attack ad, like the Contempt Party enjoy so much. Harper's record of speaking out against universal health care is fair game. And rightfully scary.

So do they plan on putting this on TV or is it just Youtube. It needs to be on TV to have any chance of having a major effect.

last night It was on My TV !!!
Good steps... More please !!

Since the Reformatories have no problems going back a decade to take quotes out of context, the Lib's next ads should respond by taking quotes in context from Harper's past...

"Canada is not a bilingual country. In fact it less bilingual today than it has ever been. ... As a religion, bilingualism is the god that failed."

- Calgary Sun newspaper column, 2001

"You have to remember that west of Winnipeg the ridings the Liberals hold are dominated by people who are either recent Asian immigrants or recent migrants from eastern Canada; people who live in ghettos and are not integrated into Western Canadian society."

- Report Magazine, 2001

"It's past time the feds scrapped the Canada Health Act."

- "Firewall Letter", 2001

"That's why the federal government should scrap its ridiculous pay equity law."

- Speaking as head of the National Citizens Coalition, 1998

"Canada is a Northern European welfare state in the worst sense of the term, and very proud of it"

- Speech to a Montreal meeting of the Council for National Policy, June 1997

"Canada appears content to become a second-tier socialistic country, boasting ever more loudly about its economy and social services to mask its second-rate status ..."

- Op-ed article in the National Post, December 12, 2000

Plenty more of Harper's greatest hits out there available with a simple Google search. Time to remind voters who this guy is that's asking for a majority.

Yeah I've always wondered why Harper's not attacked more on his old quotes.

The ad has a feeling of desperation to it.

The trouble with negative ads is that if you overreach yourself then they backfire and become objects of derision.

"The trouble with negative ads is that if you overreach yourself then they backfire and become objects of derision."

That has to be the most pathetic comment I've heard from a conbot in some time. LOL!!!

Rabbit got his assignment thru craigslist while he was surfing the net during his last week in jail for fraud.

That appears to be the way so many Conservatives found their way to their lord and saviour Steve.

Remember the 2007 Liberal ad...

"Soldiers. In our streets. With guns."

Even the CBC mocked it. It was so over the top it helped lose Paul Martin the election.

That you apparently don't remember the ad is pathetic.

I remember that ad, and it's pathetic you bring that up with THIS ad you little conbot boreasaurus. Better?

Tof KW said...

rabbit - That 'guns in the street ad' was never broadcast. That's because the Lib war room knew it was too stupid to air. You wouldn't even know about it if a Chretien supporter hadn't leaked it to a CPofC friend to use against Martin.

And your comments coming from a supporter of the Reformatory 24/7/365 slime machine ...well I'll just be nice and call you a hypocrite.

Unbelivable how shameless this "rabbit " is but it is the corevalue of all Harpercons
..
I agree with Tof KW said... we have to bring all SHITS out whatever Harper uttered .... Bring all to the forefront it is what we are fighting against!!!

You'll like this Steve. http://shitharperdid.ca.nyud.net/
The videos are pretty funny. Hopefully the vote mobs will show up this election.

Sure was. See here.

It was broadcast, but later pulled. Martin later said it was circulated by error.

Not many believed him.

Very convincing bugs.
