“We always say in all these elections in a democratic ethos, voters are never supposed to give absolute trust to anybody. They’re supposed to constantly question and that is part of the process,” Harper said.
And then:
Harper also tried to defuse fears that Conservative plans to find $4 billion in annual savings by 2015 will mean a huge impact on government operations. So far in the campaign, he has refused to single out areas that could be on the chopping block. Harper didn’t add any details Sunday, saying only that the “review of operational expenses” is to target costs that have “grown very rapidly.”
So, people are supposed to question, and I'm supposed to avoid them and when one gets through not answer it. Says it all.

Now he's just taunting people. He knows he has a devoted base that would continue to vote for him if he ran over their dog while kidnapping their kids. They pretty much guarantee him a minority. Add in the apathy and ignorance of another 10% of the population coupled with a press that gets queezy at the thought of real reporting and you've got your majority.
Starting to hear anecdotally that the Harper base is less then energized, and we know what that did for the Libs in 2008...
Combined with an all out effort by everyone else to stop Harper, and things may not turn out as badly as we think.

Silly Liberals, don't you know that Harper is infallible and his words do not apply to him. It's that eeevil coalition that must be questioned!
Harper's statement took us out of Harperland and into Bizarroland.
Very little coverage on it though.
Didn't harper just mock all with his 'you've got to ask questions' statement on politicians? No mob to drown out the snide smile and hypocritical cough... Harper, the man who gave Canada real socialism. How's that going to look, Steve? (the harper one, not you)...
