Casual Iggy

Ignatieff visits a region of Quebec that a Liberal leader hasn't set foot in for YEARS. I find that newsworthy, but I'm weird that way:

If you're into superficial news this would indeed be a headline. If you're into something more substantive then this would be a headline if he actually outlined, in broad strokes, what policies he believes in and where it will take the country.

Is it me? The Anons bombarding the blogosphere and commenting on newspaper articles like they're at war. Boring, repetative and makes them look like they're afraid of something. What a bunch of loons.

Well, RuralSandi, Steve can check to see that while I comment here once in a while I hardly bombard this site with comments. But it is quite an intellectual response to the situation.

In My mind ANONS ARE NOBODIES.. period.
Are you afraid to tell who you are??? WHY ???Unaccountable nobodies.

Another intellectual response. Very good. It's right in line with Iggy's non-responses. I've voted Liberal every election, but so far I remain highly skeptical of Iggy and what he really stands for. But your responses sure help convince me otherwise.

Does it really matter what Iggy does? I mean, come on, who are you trying to kid? Yawn.

Why be defensive? Some of us were lifelong liberals. Some of us left for various reasons and choose to read from various blogs to learn more about the party.

The Nunziata Boot over the GST flap lost me!

I am one of those soft liberals when Majorities and the term Natural governing party meant something.

Instead of trashing us for not agreeing with every move, our interest in policies should not be diminished.

Just looking for meat and what Liberals think of the issues.

It's hard to take somebody seriously that HIDES behind an anon.

Yes, Anonymous posters are a tedious lot, they can pretend to be anyone, profess beliefs about how they were once Liberals but now blah blah blah, they're probably all just
Stephen Taylor clones, but maybe not. Don't know why anyone would use Anonymity myself, or a handle for that matter, but that's just me, I'm getting cranky in my old age, and like to say what I want, as me, but then the con game is the long game online, they just keep coming, like superbugs bred by corporate clone farming methods death and destruction in their wake and a sackful of dough on the go.

I'd suggest Anonymous, if you are what you say you are, that the policy is coming. At this stage no one is pledging new ideas for programs, directions etc because a) the impetous is to be seen and to lay a foundation of communication and b) policy put forth too soon before an election becomes cannon fodder issue for both the competition and the media, with no responsibility for them to respond with either their own policy or an honest debate on policy. Policy on its own when your rivals are sitting comfortably in the guard towers is just target practice for them, as seen last year around this time.
If you truly consider yourself a possible or once positive liberal, you'll keep tuned for the songbirds of promises, policy and vast ideas that accompany the dropping of the writ. Now's the season of silence and backyard barbeques. Enjoy it.

A little detail:
Yesterday, I had a meeting with with a fundraiser who was much involved with raising the money for the addition to the Museum in Gaspé - and he joked about how hard it had been to get any contributions from the Anglo community because of the perception of that institution as 'the separatist museum' - it was founded by PQ priest, Jules Bélanger, who is still very active there (didn't see him in the clip, by the way).

Anon, I know who you think you're kidding. If you really don't want to be accused of being a Anon Tory troll, it might be a good idea to put a name at the end of your comments, otherwise you are suspect always.
