Force An Election?(Poll)

Tonight, we will have another opportunity to defeat the government. I'm curious to get a sense of some of the overall online opinion. I thought I would put up this poll, with one caveat, could people who aren't Liberals, or potential Liberal voters, please not vote. People can freep the poll if they want, but it would be more interesting to see what the faithful, and those inclined, think:

Steve: I voted - and you know my stand on this ;-)

Your poll shows 100% for the election.

Now is that, like, 3 votes or like, 300?

Doesn't matter what we think anymore. Dion's decided to live or die on a carbon tax and that's that.

I've been back and forth on this, but now I want to the Libs to go for it!

Just to prove to everyone how bogus this poll is here is an example:

I'm far for being a Mr.Dion supporter.

I have voted about 40 times for yes,and its only 2:50 pm. Not to worry I'll try my best to get the majority that the pro election people are looking for;)

Personally I hope that the Liberals have guts to stand up and vote, but I guess thats to much to ask.

Dion seems to be wanting to pick a fight with his entire caucus.

Also, take a look at what Turner has to say as well.

Finally, it's going to be an interesting day.

Wow, thank God that right guy posted. And here I was thinking this was the official Ipsos poll on the matter!

Now I have a bit of insight into the mind from which the third grade attacks spring forth. Also have greater understanding of the ease with which conservatives will game any system (otherwise known as lying) to achieve their, um, democratic goals.

Thanks for sharing, right guy.

LOL Nice to have a little humor every now and then isn't it? Not always be so serous in life.

I have not voted in your poll, but I would love to see an election. Why not? Poeple are starting to laugh at the Liberal Party of Toronto. Yes, I am conservative.

C'mon folks, we all know the "right where it's at" types cheat just like their CPC party do - the dumb up stuff - they can't handle real facts.

They get their jollies out of distortions.....charming.

You can only vote once.

This is really shameful, if they don't want to bring an election just vote for the bill. Grow a spine either way! I think the highly immigrant populated ridings in places like Brampton and the Toronto suburbs are going to be huge conservative landslides, these people are close to Conservatives on most issues and are looking for an excuse to jump the ship and now their representatives abstaining and not representing the might just give them that excuse. No wonder we are have trouble raising funds, who would want to vote for a party that is too afraid to stand up for anything?!?

Liberals should have brought down the government long ago on Afghanistan or the censorship thing. I'm sorry but the way things are right now the only way to change anything is Liberals losing an election then regrouping under a new leader who can discipline the party and create some excitement among Canadians. Most people are sick of drones like Harper and Dion bring someone fresh in as the leader... this is getting embarrassing.

btw I don't think this is an to go into an election on... We need to focus on one thing at a time and right now it seems that the Carbon-tax thing is building momentum among the Liberal rank and file... force an election on that issue. Going into the election on a different issue is just going to be a distraction from the carbon tax policy which seems to me is going to be the cornerstone of the Liberal platform.

I voted yes, but i now think it's more imperative to get our main policy out there one way or another. If we're not going to bring em down, we should produce a counter-negative ad, just mentioning the 'games others play' and shine a light on our ideas. And the team. Let that soak in come October (start of the hockey season), and when the prorogued house returns, split the final hairs then.
But i'm all for now.

Your comment on the latest Nanos poll showing that Dalton is struggling due to the weakening economy.

Still a seven point lead for the Grits with a weak opposition.

About the election, this is something that should have been prepared weeks ago. Having abstained last week, only to change mind would be a signal of poor coordination. I still support the use of delaying tactics in the Semate.

10 minutes to the vote, but we know how this is going. There is no way that they could attempt a coup this summer and quickly hobble a leadership campaign this fall, for a vote at this year's convention in Vancouver? Just a thought off the top of my head;) It would be kinda cool, however politically suicidal if enough Lib MPs said screw it and voted against the gov't tonight, throwing everything into chaos. Just about all the talking heads today were saying it might be the best time to go, also in light of today's Decima poll. I thought the Libs were all about the grassroots now, yet the Leader is pretty much ignorning his entire party. Don Newwan quipped today that he wasn't sure about the strategy and wasn't sure that Dion was the best person to sell the idea. Anyway, its time once again for the Libs to lay down...

Interested to see who the token Lib voters will be tonight.

How embarrassing...

Whomever gets the short straw.

Oh well, I guess we can enjoy our sticky sweaty Ontario summer now. Thanks Dion;)

I still like your idea of creating interest through forums or townhalls instead the bbq circuit, along with Rae, Iggy et al as salesman. However, it sounds like Dion is going on the travelling road show, which will accomplish just about nothing. Yet, dont worry Dion's got a plan:p

In addition, the strategists have already bungled the implementation, by leaking the plan weeks ahead of schedule, except with some vague details. Therefore, allowing the Cons to define the plan even before Dion got a chance to introduce it.

It's not the the Cons are master strategists, I think the Libs strategists are quite dumb.

Word is, the plan will be released next week.
