Oops

The Conservatives have their own "GritGirl", known as "ToryBoy", or more correctly as his latest turd confirms, "Not Terribly Clever Boy". Here's a helpful hint, when you're trying to slag somebody's past residency, maybe just maybe, you shouldn't include a reference to somebody who's lived out of the country for the last 21 YEARS. Kind of diminishes your "point":

There was much speculation about GritGirl's ties to the Liberal war room. Here's hoping that Toyboy is a Conservative war room manifestation, because if this is any indication of the mental firepower on display, I LIKE our chances.

They also badly overplay their hand by saying he didn't come back for 34 years. Really? Not even for Christmas? Or to give the keynote at the Liberal convention in 2003?

There's also a thinly veiled anti-Americanism behind this whole line of attack then I find amusing from coming from a party that has always been hyper-sensitive to such attacks in the past.

Yeah, and Gretzky says he won't move back to Canada if Balsillie buys the Coyotes/Jets and brings them home. That'll play well with Canadians.

fern thats cuz gretzky gets 14 million dollars if he quits due to a "change in ownership"

I don't care where I would be working, but if I have a clause that givesd me $15 million to quit, sign me up!

On a side note, can anyone name the last good Canadian hockey player (Hall of Fame calibre) who spent their entire career in Canada.

On a second side note, Mats Sundin has always played for a Canadian team. Is he no longer Swedish?

uneffing believable. That someone could rise to the top of the academic pyramid at one of the top schools in the world and then have this considered as unCanadian, or somehow unpatriotic... Then that person returns home, takes a paycut and puts up with the abuse from ignorant bumpkins like toryboy, and is considered less of a Canadian...well I am almost speechless. How do they do it? Since when is being an accomplished academic considered or professional a negative. Good luck Tory's. I can't wait for the infighting to begin when the PM fails to get another majority next election.

Harper is an academic too you know.

He's an economist

A bad economist, but a Canadian economist!

Ignatieff should be ashamed of himself for working for such seedy organizations like harvard University and the BBC!

The NERVE!

I will have too much fun if i ever get to cover the next election.

I think most Canadians will share that view, which is why this particular line of attack won't work. Canadian makes good abroad actually works, and the fact Ignatieff can articulate a intimate knowledge of this country will render the attacks nonsensical.

I'm curious to see how the Cons try and make this point. Pretty risky to be overt, but more likely low key flyers and surrogates. If the Cons do go hard at Iggy on this issue, it allows him counter, it allows him to passionately defend his view of Canada.

I think it was nice to see our Canadian queen in the video. The only thing was noticing how Queen Céline Dion looked back in 1982. For a young queen, she didn't look that great. Thankfully, a great Canadian queen like Céline is singing wailing/whaling songs in Las Vegas--home of the former CFL team, the Las Vegas Bettors.

I thought the video would have had more impact with recent Juno winner and Canadian treasure Neil Young playing in the background. He lived in Winnipeg 40 years ago you know...

Does the 1982 repatriation of the Canadian constitution without Quebec's signature as well as the under-handed tactics used to steal the 1995 referendum make something Canadian?
